This week’s style picks

The past few months have been a whirlwind and i’m finally getting the chance to sit down and blog again.  I’m going to jump right back into the blogosphere by letting you know the 10 things I am obsessed with right now.

The first thing on my radar is this Charles Henry Skirt.  I love the design and it reminds me of my beloved BCBG Elsa Skirt but in a spring/summer kind of way.  I NEED this skirt in my life, but I will wait for the Bloomingdales Friends & Family Sale.

Next up is the BCBG Malisa Dress.  I tried this on the other day and I cannot wait  for the weather to warm up so that I can have an excuse to wear this.  I really want to find a Leather Bralette or Bustier to pair with it, let me know if you see any cute ones.

I took a stroll through Nordstrom’s shoe department the other day and the Dolce Vita Niro Sandals caught my eye.  I decided that these will be my “summer shoe”.  I tried them on and they seem comfortable and true to size.  I  can envision them with so many outfits in spring and summer.  Now I just have to wait for them to go on sale…

These Overalls are so badass.  I found them after having a vision of some kind of boyfriend jean/overall hybrid.  The One Teaspoon Awesome Overalls in Cobain are just perfect.

I’ve been on the hunt for a Bonnet Dryer for years, but I never got around to buying one.  Bonnet dryers are great for roller-sets and deep conditioning.  I watched Andrea’s Choice Monthly Favorite’s video where she talked about the Laila Ali Ionic Soft Bonnet Hair Dryer.  It has great reviews on Amazon and the price it right, so I should be getting one of these pretty soon.

This Cable-knit Cropped Sweater from H&M is great. I would pair it with a silk maxi skirt like this one, and you can also achieve a similar look with this.
This CATHERINE STEIN Faux Pearl Bauble Necklace from Lord & Taylor is divine.  This would be perfect with a White Button Down or a Pastel Colored Blazer and a blouse.  It should get a nice markdown, so I will be waiting patiently until then.

I’ve decided that I need a pair of pointed toe white heels to wear with all my spring outfits.  I’m torn between the Charles by Charles David ‘Pact’ Pump and the Zara Leather High Heel Shoe with a Buckle. Which one is your favorite?
Charles by Charles David 'Pact' Pump
I need a blouse-y white polyester-ish top to wear under my blazers.  The Wilfred Nuit Blouse from Aritzia fits the bill.  Hopefully it will be in my closet one day.

And then there’s the Luxe Pastel Bib Necklace.  I saw something similar on Tumblr years ago and I searched everywhere trying to find it to no avail.  Then I noticed that the exact same necklace was available here recently.  It’s on sale and I can get an additional 25% off, so I should probably go ahead and buy it. AND it will go together perfectly with all the pastel and white i’m planning to wear this spring.

This week’s style picks

Here are a few things i’m lusting over this week…

I spotted a Rails LA shirt on  @Chrisellelim’s Instagram a few days ago and decided to give the brand a closer look.  I checked out their Clothes on Revolve and fell in love with this shirt.  It would be perfect for layering with other pieces this fall and winter.

I’m pretty sure I need a new pair of basic skinny jeans.  I’ve been wearing my Citizens of Humanity Avedon Skinny Jeans for the past two years and its time for something new, something different. I love Rag & Bone Jeans so my next pair will either be these (spotted here) or these

This is another Instagram find.  I picked up this chic & cheap Threshold™ Gold Snake Print Embossed Serving Tray from Target yesterday and I can’t wait style it.

’tis the season…. for pumpkin spice!  This is one of the first things I buy when it gets chilly outside.  There’s nothing better than smoking pumpkin spice shisha on a crisp fall day.

I love the Fanstasia pumkin spice (buy here) but the Starbuzz Pumpkin Pie is great as well (buy here)

One thing that is missing in my wardrobe is quality sweaters.  Everlane makes quality items at great prices.  I have already envisioned so many outfits I can create with this Seed Stitch Box Cut Sweater.

P.S. They also make great(cheap) t-shirts

When I was in London I picked up three Nails Inc. polishes on a whim;  Bruton StreetJermyn Street, and Tate.  I didn’t know what to expect, but I tried them and their amazing! They’re even better than Essie!  The application is smooth, the brush is perfect,  and they dry super fast.  You can find them at Sephora in the States.  I will be picking up this sample pack soon.

This week’s style picks

Yesterday was the first day of fall.  The temperature is dropping I am craving some new goodies for to keep me warm. This fall I am really into Black and white with pops of red. Here are a few things that I’ve been lusting over this week….

The Dolce Vita Giya Loafers.  You can get them at Nordstrom or Anthropologie.  I tried these on yesterday and they look so smart.  They would go great with leggings and chunky knit sweaters.

I NEED these shoes in my life.  I have been drooling over the Giuseppe Zanotti Lace-Up Suede Gladiator High-Heel Sandals ever since I saw them on Song of Style, but they were a little too pricey for me.  Then I saw Tuula Vintage wearing a very similar but cheaper pair and I had to have them.  You can find them here, or you can get an even cheaper version here.

I picked up this ASOS Blouse a few days ago.  It’s currently sold out, but Zara does something Similar.

Isabel Marant is one of my favorite designers.  I recently came across the red version of her infamous dicker boots.  The price is a bit steep, but I will definitely purchase them if the price goes down.

Our Favorite Man Repeller just released her first book, Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.  I read the kindle sample and I know this will be a good read.

Finally, we can top it off with a fabulous vampy red lipstick.  I heard that Mac released their “Retro Matte” Collection.  I wanted to get the Fixed On Drama Lipstick after seeing it on ulovemegz, but it is sold out already.  MouldyFruit blogged about the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Dark Berry and it looks promising.  Diva by MAC is another great alternative.

My Take on Anthropologie’s New Arrivals July 2013

Anthropologie updated their website with some new arrivals for July, and I think I’m in love!  I used to be an Anthro enthusiast a few years ago.  I wanted to buy everything they released, and I waited patiently for all of my favorite items to go on sale.  Then one day something happened, I don’t know if it was them or me.  Suddenly their clothes weren’t as appealing to me, and I felt like they no longer fit my aesthetic.  I stopped purchasing their clothes.  I sold off all of my old Anthro clothes on eBay and discovered new places to shop.  I still went into Anthropologie every so often to take a peek at their housewares, but I couldn’t find clothes that I liked in their store anymore. Then, it happened.

I came home a few days ago and the Anthropologie monthly catalog was waiting for me per usual.  I had been ignoring their offerings for so long, but the cover image for the July catalog spoke to me.

I went through the catalog and looked at their new stuff online and I found so much stuff that I NEED. Here are a few of my favorites….

Madewell added a few awesome new arrivals to their website for Spring! These are my top picks…

The Bistro Dress in Ridgestripe.

This is the perfect dress for spring.

I LIVE for silk dresses. They’re perfect for spring and summer because you can just through them on and go.

The Silk Day Dress in Birdslife is so easy and chic.

I know the Melody Dress in Rose looks like it was made from a vintage curtain, but I love it!

Silk Peasant Blouse in Retrogrid

Cityblock Storyteller Scarf

Madewell makes the best scarves, and I would love to get my hands on this one.  It has all the neighborhoods in Manhattan on it, so cute!

The silk-front tee in colorpoint is so sophisticated.

The v-neck pocket tee in stripe is a great casual essential.

I need a pair of burgundy jeans, and these [blanknyc] skinny color jeans might be exactly what I am looking for. They would go great with my Leopard flats.

Everyone should own a Chambray Shirt. This is a great one!
