My Favorite Juice for Weight Loss

I’ve been juicing a lot more lately, mostly for weight loss.  As I was flipping through one of my favorite Juicing books, Juicing Recipes From Fitlife.TV Star Drew Canole For Vitality and Health, I noticed a recipe that is recommended for weight loss and I decided to give it a try.  It’s called the Green Juices Recipe Energizer.  I tried it a few times and it really does work.  It’s delicious, it tastes like a Mean Green Juice with pizazz.

The day after I drink this I feel like my problem areas have slimmed down and the number on the scale is lower.  It’s made with fennel, which tastes a bit like licorice. Fennel is an interesting veggie and I’ve never come across it until I needed for this recipe, I hear that its also great roasted.  All of the other ingredients are the usual suspects you would find in a green juice.  I just chop everything up before I put it through my Big Boss Juicer (A Few Alternatives). Try it out and let me know what you think.

May Favorites!

A few of my favorite things from the month of May

//Walk the Moon //

I started listening to Walk the Moon recently and I really enjoy all of thier music.  I can’t wait to see them at the Made in America Festival at the end of the summer.

//The Great Gatsby//

The movie was visually appealing and entertaining.

The soundtrack was amazing, and the story was thought provoking.

//Zara & Topshop//

I did most of my shopping this month at these two stores.

//Essie Nail Polish in Come Here//

I love bright nails during this summer, and this color is perfect

Everlane is a great new indie clothing company.  They make super affordable high quality items. I own one of their Silk Blouses, which is a great alternative to the Equipment Signature Blouse.  I also own one of their Men’s Slim Fit Oxford Shirts and one of their V-Neck Tees

//MAC Lipstick in Up the Amp//

A bright purple lipstick for the summer, I pair this with MAC’s Magenta Lipliner

//J. Crew‘s Scalloped Hem Dress//

I can’t get enough of this dress, I wish I could wear it everyday.  It’s sold out, but this is a great alternative.

//Uncle Julio’s Fine Mexican Food//

I don’t eat mexican food very often but we decided to go to Uncle Julios for Cinco de Mayo and we had so fun.  The shut down an entire block so they could have a fiesta, and the food there was delicious.

On Sunday I will test out the Boozy Brunch at Birch & Barley

Here are several  restaurants that I have tried and enjoyed…

The Capital Grille, the steaks are amazing.

The Hamilton. They have classic American Food, I like that they have “DC Cuisine” like Mambo Sauce.

and their Gospel brunch can’t be missed.

Graffiato is one of  Top Chef Mike Isabella’s restaurants.

 Make sure you order the Pepperoni Sauce!

Masa 14. The Asian/Mexican Fusion Tapas are wonderful.

Matchbox has great Pizza.

The Melting Pot is perfect for a romantic date.
